The Roots
What is now Oak Leaf Acres began as a 300-acre tobacco farm, lovingly worked for four generations by the Fishel family. Tobacco, corn, and cattle were raised on the land, creating a legacy of hard work and deep connection to the property.

The farm is home to a beautifully preserved barn, built between 1919 and 1921, and a farmhouse completed in 1921. These historic structures remain at the heart of Oak Leaf Acres, standing as lasting reminders of the farm’s rich past.

A New Beginning
In 2022, Abby and Jason Hilemn purchased the property with a vision to thoughtfully revitalize the farm while honoring its history. In a short time, they have carefully renovated the century-old barn and farmhouse, established a flower farm, transformed a former workshop into a charming cabin, and added a greenhouse and modern restrooms—breathing new life into what is now Oak Leaf Acres.
